Space Pietá

Mother Mary Martian held him across her lap. The crowd of family and friends stood by silently. Embarrassed at their banners and cards now seemed highly inappropriate. The radioactive piñata now appeared a bi crude. Owl twins were at each others' throats about how to divide up the gifts. We looked into space with our best eyes and everything we saw was a billion years away and filled us with dread. The Mayor had seen this many times before, and he could barely contain the madness. The Space Catz watch with joy.

Santa Sangre

Santa Sangre
Dancers, clowns and scorpions march around your coffin. The demon fetuses incubate their own demon fetus and all we want is to live to tell about it. The commander squints hard with his one good eye while he tries to understand what Carl is talking about. "Electrons in our salads and tachyons in our pasta, weaving carbs in and around time...". The clowns forge terrible shadows and we live in fear of our own personal circus.

The Fate of All Brave Souls

The Fate of All Brave Souls

The advent of time travel only sharpened our lust for discovery. We put on our space-skin boots and march into parts unknown. We lie in dust with shattered visors, torn suits and empty tanks. We are back where we started, to try again. Get it right this time. Not many more chances. Our simian companions keep track of the days and monitor the batteries. We think of favorite songs to stave off the madness of the void. If luck is with us, we will hold our loved ones again, otherwise the Star Demon will clutch us to his breast for eternity. In the end, our disappointed last words are always, "Just when I was doing so well..."

Art Slaves Show and Sale 2013

I got the fun job of creating this year's poster for the Art Slaves Show and Sale; an annual art show showcasing the art of design professionals and other artists. It's a daunting task to explore the creative universe, searching for inspiration amid all the distractions and dangers that lay in wait. Only the most intrepid souls dare to travel in these realms.

An Evening With the Science Diver

An Evening With the Science Diver
A light dinner with Professor octopus and then it's time to put on his comfortable knitted space suit. It feels good to slip off heavy tanks and the snake tangle of hoses. The recent up-tick in number station activity has him all on edge. Tinny music. Jaunty tunes. Numbers in alien tongues. Jaunty tunes. Tinny Music. Unlock the delicious roar of knowledge. His chronolepsy has gotten worse since he found the Chaosium and he suddenly finds himself having dinner all over again.
May Chaos Preserve Us.

I did a sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project. It was quite a lot of work. I think I spent from June to late September to fill it all up.
