Even the Earth Can't Hold Us
Our mothers sent us to far-flung academies to study the terrors of space. We learned to out-sing the Bat Vixens of Hyperion 9. We trained for months so we could drink the mighty Helix Aspersa under the table. When we were ready, the Android Instructor left us on dark planets we'd never heard of, and later generations would clean up our bones. Our mothers would rather we died in conquest of a new world, than in the petty squabbles of the world we already knew.
